卡夫卡 - 白浜 (Shirahama) is quite a "popular" place of suicide! because there is a calm sea surrounding and the landscapes are beautiful. I guess in the past some people came to this place and killed themselves there. So signs and boards with messages asking people to "think twice", are oftenly seen near the seaside.
